Dwayne K. Smith is a multi-genre photographer who lives and exercises his craft in the beautiful island of Jamaica, nestled in the Caribbean Sea. His approach of being an explorer of the photographic arts has helped and continues, to mold his personal style by learning multiple genres of photography.
Dwayne currently explores the photographic genres of Portraiture, Events, Nature and Landscapes, Weddings, Astroscapes, Timelapses, Food, Automobile as well as Real Estate and Interiors. Each genre has its distinct learning opportunities, and Dwayne actively engages in the cross-application of these lessons learned in composition, natural and artificial lighting techniques and post-production processes.
Smith, an Information Technologist of 12 years, commenced his photographic journey in 2015 after completing his undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems from the Excelsior Community College. Throughout his life, Dwayne has been fascinated by the photographic arts and how moments of time are captured and preserved for current and future generations. This fascination blossomed in his teenage years of seeing the results of his processed rolls of film, shot at family events or camping trips where he was a member of the Jamaica Combined Cadet Force.
Dwayne had his debut exhibit at the Jamaica Conference Center as part of the “Celebrating Photographers” exhibit. The pieces displayed were entitled “Blood Moon Transition” and “Natural MISTic”.
Armed with his “Moment Capturers”, he continues to strive for that level of output and professionalism that will please both himself and the general public.
